Our brand

Who we are

Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) is a veteran-led not-for-profit that unites veterans and volunteers from all walks of life to help communities prepare
for and recover from disaster.

Unlike emergency services, which provide immediate disaster response, our areas of focus are on either side of the emergency in the preparedness and recovery phases.

Preparedness is about helping communities proactively prepare for the unexpected. We work with communities to identify risks, develop disaster management strategies, and build their capability
to face future challenges.

When disaster strikes, we shift our focus to recovery. In the aftermath of a disaster, we provide essential cleanup and support to help communities pick up
the pieces and rebuild their lives.

Purpose

We help build resilience in communities, deliver assistance and restore hope to those affected by disasters and, through this, enrich the lives of our veterans and volunteers through continued, meaningful service.

Mission

To unite the skills and experience of veterans with those of other volunteers to help communities prepare for and recover from disasters.

Our values are at the heart of our organisation. Our brand values aren’t just reflected in what we do, but embedded into how we operate. They define our culture and guide everything we do.

We serve with selflessness, purpose, and compassion, knowing our actions create lasting change for the most vulnerable, while strengthening our bonds with the communities we support in their time of need.
